Supporting Children Through Life's Challenges
Children don't always have the words to explain what they are feeling. Sometimes their emotions may show up through behavior, anger, withdrawal, anxiety, or difficulties at home or school.
Therapy can provide children with a safe and supportive space to express themselves, better understand their emotions, and learn healthy ways to cope with life's challenges
I work with children experiencing concerns such as:
Anxiety and worries
Big emotions or difficulty managing feelings
Behavioral challenges
School-related stress
Friendship difficulties or bullying
Family changes
Life transitions
Grief and loss
Trauma
Low self-esteem
My Approach to Child Therapy
Every child is different. I believe therapy should meet children where they are.
Depending on your child's age and needs, I may use play, art, creative activities, conversation, and other therapeutic approaches to help your child express and understand their experiences.
For many children, it can be easier to communicate through play and activities than simply sitting down and talking. Through therapy, children can gradually develop a better understanding of their emotions and learn new ways to cope with difficult situations.
Parents Are an Important Part of the Process
Parents know their children best. While therapy provides children with their own space, I believe that involving and supporting parents is also an important part of helping children.
I work with parents to better understand what their child may be experiencing and explore ways to support them outside of therapy.
